Kasteel Cru Review

Kasteel Cru (5.2%) is brewed at Brasserie de Licorne in France using Champagne yeast, malted barley, hops and Alsace water (which apparently very pure indeed).

It is a very light and bubbly (but not fizzy) lager which once you know has been brewed using champagne yeast explains alot about its appearance. Despite what their website might tell you I found there to be almost no head and very little aroma however the lager itself is absolutely superb.

On first taste Kasteel Cru is very light, fresh, crisp and slightly fruity. The fith or sixth bottle of this delicious lager is as good as the first.

If I have any complaint about Kasteel Cru it is the particularly viscious hangover it leaves you with the following day if you consume copious amounts however it is totally worth it for this delicious beverage.

I am giving this 5/5 however I must admit that this review can be seen as biased due to the fact that Kasteel Cru has been my favourite lager for some time.
